The grape variety Merlot is from far one of the most important one’s in the French viticulture, as it takes place in the composition of major red Bordeaux-Wines such as Saint-Emilion and Pomerol.
Planted on the chalky hill-sides in the Languedoc wine-region, the grapes benefit from ideal climatic conditions which allow a good growth of the vines, a perfect
sanitary state of the crops and plenty ripeness of the berries. The vineyards extend around Béziers on a light subsoil that allow perfect draining. It is mostly composed from small pebbles, which stock the heat during the day and restitute it to the berries nights over, to achieve plain maturation.
